Trappers Lake and the Flat Tops Wilderness Area – Various years, a compilation

We have an annual conclave up to Trappers Lake and the Flat Tops Wilderness Area.  I also guide and teach Fly Fishing, Fly Casting, Fly Tying as well as general entomology for the Trappers Lake Lodge.

We hold an annual conclave to the Trappers Lake and the Flat Tops Wilderness Area every year.  This is a very special place for me and I have brought many visitors that have been fully revived by just coming up here.

Trappers Lake is an awesome fishery but the landscape itself has much to offer anyone looking for that spectacular scenic vista but if you are also a trout hunter, there are few places that can beat it!

This is one of those places where even young beginners can catch a fish of their lifetime

Trappers Lake has one of the largest Colorado River Cutthroat populations and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) gather the eggs of these fish from here to stock these fish all other the Rocky Mountains.

That being said, we do catch many Brook, Rainbow and Brown trout throughout the lake and the White River that flows out of the lake.

Contact the folks at Trappers Lake Lodge for a stay at their lovely cabins and eat or drink at the lodge.  The folks there are friendly and very approachable and will take great care of you.  You can also rent canoes and row boats from them (they have the only permit for the wilderness area) to check out the lake and there is no better way to enjoy this lake than a day rowing a canoe out on the peaceful lake.

Come up and see us when you get a chance!
