Miracle Mile, Grey Reef and Fremont Canyon – November 23, 2017 to November 26, 2017

Headed up to the North Platte River for four days to chase the big Brown Trout out of Pathfinder Reservoir.  Will be updating with a report after I return.  This wil be over the Thanksgiving Day weekend and should be a great time to get away.

Fished the Miracle Mile, Fremont Canyon and Pathfinder Reservoir.  We caught fish in all locations, some better than others but all produced fish.

The wind!  Wow, both last weekend and this weekend was windy, which you get used to when fishing in Wyoming in general but when the gusts are over 40 mph, it can be difficult, at best.

Most of the time the gusts were well under 20 mph but we have our times where it was much higher than that.

That being said, we all managed to catch fish while dealing with the wind.  To that, working through the issues of wind, I believe, makes you a better fly fisher person, in general, and also allows you to function where others can’t.  This can also be beneficial, from a learning standpoint, for fishing in distant locations such as any saltwater environments, Tierra Del Fuego, Patagonia or other far of places where you will also need to learn to deal with mother nature and the types of conditions you will find everywhere in the world.
